Homecoming 2025

Homecoming Week is quickly approaching!

Dress-up days are below. Attire must follow school dress code.
- 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭. 𝟏𝟓: Dress up like a referee, your favorite athlete, or a coach.
- 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭. 𝟏𝟔: Teachers dress like students, and students dress like teachers.
- 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭. 𝟏𝟕: Wear designated colors/prints according to your grade level. (see graphic above)
- 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭. 𝟏𝟖: Bring your best to the tailgate party & bonfire!
- 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭. 𝟏𝟗: Wear blue & white...and Walton gear!

Homecoming Dress-Up

This year's theme for the hallways and skits is "Sports Leagues:"
- Seniors: NFL
- Juniors: NBA
- Sophomores: MLB
- Freshmen: MLS

𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 / 𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠:
- Freshmen:
Sept. 11 - sign painting in Ms. Wilson's room (147) from 3:35 to 5:00 p.m.
Sept. 15-17 - float building at MSE after school until 9:00 p.m.
Sept. 18 - hallway decorating, tailgate, and bonfire at WHS after school until 9:00 p.m. 

- Sophomores:
Sept. 9-11 - sign painting from 3:35 to 5:00 in Mrs. Herndl's room (culinary/silver hallway)
Sept. 15-18 - hall decorating from 3:35 to 9:00 p.m.
Location - Police Station (99 S. 18th St. across from the Post Office)

- Juniors:
Sept. 15-17 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Corbett Creek Crossing (200 Henderson Rd., DeFuniak)
Sept. 18 from 4:00 to 9:00 at WHS

𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭. 𝟏𝟖
- The Powderpuff game will be held on Thursday at 3:00. We'll be following our activity bell schedule. The cost for students to attend will be $2. Girls interested in playing should see Mrs. Zodrow in room 114. The first 15 girls from each grade level that meet the requirements below will be allowed to play:
* Must pay $2 entry fee
* Must not have any referrals
* Must have a 2.0+ GPA
* Must not have any attendance issues

- The tailgate party will be held on Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30. All WHS students are invited, and free food, music, and games will be provided. Students will need to be dropped off at the student parking lot and walk by the tennis courts to the football practice field.
- The bonfire will be held on Thursday at 7:30. Students may walk over from the tailgate party. Parents should pick up from the student parking lot at approximately 8:00.

𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭. 𝟏𝟗
- The pep rally will be held from 10:30 to 11:25. This will be an early release day for DeFuniak schools.
- The parade will begin at 2:30 and will run the entire lake yard loop. If you'd like to participate, please contact Capri Zodrow by email at zodrowca@walton.k12.fl.us or by text (850-830-1035). Please include your name, the organization you're associated with, and a good contact #. The entry fee is $10 per vehicle. Students that want to participate in the parade should see Mrs. Zodrow in room 114. Line-up for WHS students will be at Walton Middle School's bus ramp at 2:00.
- The Homecoming Court will be presented on Friday at 6:30 p.m. All court members need to report to the football field at 6:00 p.m.
- The Braves varsity football team will kick off against Fort Walton Beach at approximately 7:00.
- The Homecoming dance will be held on Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. Tickets cost $10 and may be purchased during lunches from September 8 to September 17. Students bringing someone from another school must pick up a form from the front office & return it by September 17. Middle school students & individuals over 20 are NOT allowed to attend.

Girls' dress code:
- Dresses must be at least mid-thigh in length.
- Midriffs should NOT be exposed (front & sides).
- Dresses may be strapless or have spaghetti straps.
- Excessive cleavage is not allowed.

Boys' dress code:
- Jeans or khakis
